On Saturday 9th June I captured the #wedding of Stuart and Marion at Holy Trinity Church, Westbury-on-Trym and Mercure Bristol North The Grange Hotel. The Sun was out and it was a beautiful day for a very special wedding. During the meetings with Marion and Stuart I was told that they're wedding day was going to be unique and like no other that I had captured before. As I arrived at St Monica's with RichMcD Photography, Marion and Stuart were both ready and our first task was to capture some romantic shots of the happy couple in the amazing gardens and next to the pond. The ushers and flower girl were also about for a picture and the classic wedding cars arrived. I captured a shot with the cars and then made my way to the church. Outside the church and there was a lot of space and the sun was in full view, guests started to arrive and we're greeted by Stuarts ushers. The first wedding car arrived with the best man and Marion's ushers. By the time it had reached 3:45 ushers started asking guest to take seats in the church for the start of the wedding and at 3:50 Stuart and Marion arrived together in the other open top classic car. After a picture together they went to the side door for the entrance. Bruce the Cannon announced the entrance of the bride and groom to a special composition of that Stuart had written. It was a very lovely moment and one that I won't forget. During the wedding there was a reading, address a few hymes and a during the signing the choir performed a special song. Thankfully I was able to capture the signing from distance while capturing the audio of the choir. I then moved to the back of the church to capture the exit and the music the organists played was also very special to Stuart and Marion.
After the wedding Rich set up a few group shots and guests congratulated the happy couple. We then all made our way to the Grange hotel. Just before getting up to the hotel we set the wedding cars up at the bottom of the garden and got some magnificent shots with the hotel in the background. We then went up to the hotel and had a confetti shot outside and a big group shot. I managed to capture room details and afterwards took Stuart and Marion to the secret gardens for a few more romantic pictures. Marion was a retired wedding photographer and Rich gave up his camera and let Marion capture Stuart. This was a very special moment and I'm so glad I was able to capture it. Once guests had taken their seats in the wedding breakfast room the bride and groom were announced in the a standing applause. The speeches were first and the best man started of and after his speech he had a message from Marion's bother and son who were not able to attend the wedding. Stuart ended the speeches with a few words just before the wedding breakfast was served.
After deserts I had a list of guests that I need to get personal messages from and all the messages were lovely, Stuart and Marion will really appreciate the wonderful words from guests and a special thanks to Dianne for helping find the guests. After tea and coffee there was a little entertainment as Stuart is part of a jazz band. He first performed 'Playing Love' the music he composed for the walking up the aisle. Afterwards the jazz band performed a song, a poet and a solo saxophonist performed bringing to a close a fabulous day. Congratulations Stuart and Marion x
